Learning and Applying Cooperative Solutions: A Classroom Experiment on Transportation Games

چکیده

In a trade experiment, groups of students were taught how to bargain over pie generated in transportation game. Data collection and detailed group reports the bargaining process allowed us identify type followed its correspondence with cooperative game theory concepts. Explicit coalitions rather scarce (17%), although coalition stability was implied by 47.8% agreements. Efficiency achieved vast majority (82%) cases, whereas 34.8% agreements, used lexicographic ordering multiple solutions before choosing among them. Regarding procedure, 40% quantities traded decided profit sharing rules negotiated, 16% cases they simultaneously agreed upon. Our findings suggest that procedures often do not imply explicit coalitions. Moreover, efficiency can be even absence processes.

Applying Reliability Solutions to a Cooperative Network

Reliability is one of the most important concepts in computer networks field. Any network must be supplied with different techniques and methods to guarantee its continuity and functionality under the most sever circumstances. This paper highlights the steps taken at the University of Mosul to enhance the reliability of its computer network. Firstly, the current topology of the network is exami...

Learning Cooperative Games

This paper explores a PAC (probably approximately correct) learning model in cooperative games. Specifically, we are given m random samples of coalitions and their values, taken from some unknown cooperative game; can we predict the values of unseen coalitions? We study the PAC learnability of several well-known classes of cooperative games, such as network flow games, threshold task games, and...

Weakly monotonic solutions for cooperative games

The principle of weak monotonicity for cooperative games states that if a game changes so that the worth of the grand coalition and some player’s marginal contribution to all coalitions increase or stay the same, then this player’s payoff should not decrease. We investigate the class of values that satisfy effi ciency, symmetry, and weak monotonicity. It turns out that this class coincides with...

Solutions to Cooperative Games without Side Payments

An extension of Von Neumann Morgenstern solution theory to cooperative games without side payments has been outlined in [1]. In this paper we revise some of the definitions given in [1] and prove that in the new theory every threeperson constant sum game is solvable (see [1, Theorem 1]). Other results that were formulated in [1] had already been proved in [2]. [1 ; 2] are also necessary for a f...
